Electrolysis Shutterstock copy lo res.jpg

The battle with unwanted hair, and the removal of it, is an ongoing one for many, and most people think about how to remove hair effectively and permanently at some point. Waxing and shaving, the most popular methods of hair removal, offer good results, but are unfortunately not permanent hair removal methods. The effects from these procedures are only temporary, meaning that they will get rid of hair effectively, but the hair will always grow back within a matter of days or weeks.

Maintaining the hair removal can result in a costly, continuing process. However, there is one form of permanent hair removal which really does give permanent results, with some saying it is therefore the best hair removal method. Electrolysis is able to get rid of hair by completely destroying the hair follicle so that it will never grow back.

Here at Skin Society I only use Sterex professional products. Disposable probes are used to totally eliminate cross infection.

Electrolysis is the ONLY treatment option that’s approved by the FDA for Permanent Hair Removal!

Unlike laser, which targets the pigment of hair, electrolysis targets the hair follicle itself.

Electrolysis is safe and effective for ALL types and colors of skin and hair. Because it works at the follicle level, it’s an “equal opportunity hair remover”. Grey, blond, dark, fuzzy, course, ingrown, or any other type of hair can be completely and permanently removed with electrolysis treatment.

  • How do the results from laser compare to the results from electrolysis?

Both laser and electrolysis are very effective for removing superfluous hair. Although they both have their uses, electrolysis is the only proven permanent method of hair removal. Hair growth as a result of a hormonal imbalance is also difficult to treat. The hair density can be reduced greatly but it is necessary to continue with electrolysis to obtain further, permanent results

  • How many treatments do I need to permanently remove my unwanted hair?

Electrolysis is a proven permanent method of hair removal and is a progressive method of hair removal, meaning that it requires a course of treatments. Each individual hair is treated repeatedly as gently as possible so the hair becomes weaker and no tissue damage is caused.  A treatment plan will be discussed with your electrologist during a full consultation, giving you some indication of the commitment required to obtain the desired results.
